Friendship Friday is a special event at the end of each week in kindergarten.  The students come together in the kindergarten pod and sing songs related to the curriculum, with students who are being recognized at the front facing their peers.  On the SMART board are words to a variety of songs, all which relate to the curriculum.  Mrs. O’Brien accompanies on her guitar and leads the songs.  In one picture attached, she is modeling the movements they should make that match with a song they are singing about squirrels.  Friendship Friday is a special component of kindergarten at Eagle View.  When I see them or hear their singing, I am often reminded of the section from Robert Folghum’s book about “everything I really needed to know I learned in kindergarten.”  :o
